A step-by-step guide to recover a Cash App Account
There are 4 things you should know before you do any steps:
Once you create one Cash App account, its details are saved in the database of Square Inc., the parent company
All of the data is encrypted
It’s impossible to access the account without a PIN/passcode sent to your e-mail address or phone number every time you attempt to log in
Cash App does NOT have an official phone number nor real customer service you can talk to by voice. They do have a text-based customer service, and an official free toll phone number, but the response is automated
1. If you still have access to your e-mail address or phone number
Option 1.
If you are already signed in to your new Cash App account, do this:
Tap on the profile icon in the upper right corner.
From the list, tap on Sign Out.
In the Sign In screen, enter your old e-mail address or phone number.
Enter the necessary information, such as your first and last name, SSN (Social Security Number), date of birth, etc.
You’ll be transferred to the Add a bank using your debit card screen.
Enter the debit card number, expiration date, CVV, and ZIP code tied to your old account.
After you tap on Save Card, you’ll be back to the home screen of the Cash App account you tried to restore.
Option 2.
Once again, you should already be signed to your new Cash App account.
In the top right corner, tap on the profile icon.
From the list of options, tap on Add a bank.
Re-enter your first and last name in the two blank fields.
Enter the $Cashtag of your new account if it hasn’t been added already.
Enter the $Cashtag of your old account.
You need to enter the e-mail address and phone number tied to your old Cash App account.
Re-enter the e-mail address and phone number of the new account if needed.
If you’re attempting this from an unknown device/location, they might ask you to enter a verification code sent to your old phone number or e-mail address.
To confirm your $CashTags, you’ll need to enter the last 3 digits of your bank account/last 4 digits for your debit card/ZIP code of both the new and old accounts.
The funds should be merged now.
I hope this will be helpful!
